The ALA welcomes new breeders
of the Australian Labradoodle both those who are new to this wonderful breed and those who are new to dog breeding. The ALA recognizes the need for mentor breeders and applauds those of our breeders who take time to be mentors for new breeders. And for those new breeders that don't have a mentor breeder the ALA has assigned an "Official ALA Mentor Breeder" the task of mentoring new ALA Accredited breeders who feel that they are in need of a mentor.

The ALA would also like to encourage
new breeders to educate themselves on some of the basics of dog breeding and suggest that you purchase books on dog breeding, genetics, reproduction and dog midwifery.

The ALA's accredited breeders
are made up of a wonderful group of people who care very much for the Australian Labradoodle breed. Our breeders have varying programs including those who are currently only breeding "Early-gens" (Lab x Poodle & Backcrosses), those who only breed "Multi-gens", and those who have combinations of both types in their breeding programs. Some of our breeders are developing breeding programs that are bringing in new bloodlines into the current multi-gen lines for genetic diversity.

The ALA feels that this is a very important
part of the development and genetic health and diversity of lines for the Australian Labradoodle and would like to encourage these breeders in their endeavours to develop these new lines.

Our goal as the Australian Labradoodle Association
of is to protect and promote the Australian Labradoodle for future generations to enjoy. We feel very strongly about what is required in our Breeders Code of Ethics, from our Accredited Breeders as we feel these requirements are in the best interest of the development of Australian Labradoodle.

Because we require strict requirements
from our Accredited Breeders we feel it is important to dedicate time and attention to the needs of our new breeders so that they can breed the Australian Labradoodle with confidence and responsibility.
